Microphone and speech
Recording starts only when you choose it and grant microphone access. The speech recognizer is configured to require on-device recognition; if local recognition is unavailable, it reports the limitation rather than submitting audio for cloud recognition. Apple may need to download speech assets. Read-aloud choices, where offered, are described separately below. Recognition, voice and language support vary by device.
Read aloud and optional voices
You can choose installed Apple voices or optional Supertonic natural voices. Downloading natural voices is an explicit action after reviewing their license; it contacts Hugging Face and its file-delivery hosts with normal network information, including your IP address and the requested files. After the download, speech generation runs on this device. Document text, article text and practice responses are not uploaded to a speech service. If a natural voice is unavailable, the app reports the problem; using an Apple voice is an explicit choice rather than an automatic substitution. Voice selection is stored locally, and downloaded voices can be removed in settings. Voice and language availability varies.
Career information and sessions
Job descriptions, résumé excerpts, answers and feedback are held locally in the current session. The app does not send career information to an employer or recruitment service, and it does not save an audio recording file. Export is explicit. An optional Mac developer connection accepts a loopback-only local model server; the operator of that server controls its own logs and retention. Native audio research is not a promise of conversational performance in this app.
On-device models
Apple Intelligence, LFM2.5-1.2B-Instruct QAD and Gemma 4 are separate model options. Availability depends on the device, operating system, installed assets and the task. Generation runs locally with no automatic cloud fallback. Downloading a model contacts its hosting provider, including Hugging Face, with ordinary network information such as your IP address and the asset requested; it does not send your documents or conversation. Downloads are explicit and integrity checked. Apple may download its own system assets.
Storage and control
The app has no account, advertising or app-managed cloud synchronization. Saved content and preferences belong to this app's local storage. You can remove saved items in the app; deleting the app removes its app data, subject to operating-system backups. Manage any retained backups separately. Exporting or sharing creates a copy with the recipient you choose. This policy describes the current development build; features may change before release.
Third-party services
Third-party downloads, websites, and Apple platform services have their own privacy practices. Their requests may include ordinary network information such as your IP address and the requested resource. See Apple's explanation of device backups.
