Local records and intelligence
Melody does not require an account and its current app contains no advertising or analytics. Visits, recordings, documents, notes, saved chats, medication records, and health logs are stored locally using iOS data protection. Health archive files are excluded from backups. AI questions use a limited selection of local context and run on your device. This is not a complete medical record.
Recording and documents
Microphone recording starts only after you choose it. Obtain permission from everyone present. A started visit can continue recording after you change screens, switch apps, or lock the phone, until you finish it or iOS interrupts it. Visit recordings are saved; Ask dictation uses memory and does not save an audio file. Selected documents and images are processed locally. Speech recognition requires the on-device path and may be unavailable for a device or language.
Optional Apple Health
With permission, Melody reads steps, sleep, and resting heart rate for display. It does not write HealthKit data. Read values stay in memory, are not saved to the app archive, and are not included in AI conversations or web searches. Disconnect in Melody and manage permissions in Apple Health.
Search and downloads
Explicit health-source searches send the query you enter to Brave. Your notes, recordings, and chat are not attached. Avoid including personal information in a search. Supported source websites receive requests for previews and images; opening their links follows their privacy practices. Optional intelligence files download from Hugging Face without health data. Download services receive ordinary network information. Models run locally after installation.
Control and deletion
Saved Ask conversations can be removed from Past chats. Deleting the app removes its local health archive. Keep your own copies of original care instructions. Apple Health data and information already provided directly to an external website or by email are not deleted by removing Melody.
Purpose
Melody organizes personal health information. It does not diagnose, prescribe, monitor emergencies, or replace a clinician. Review generated text and transcripts against the original instructions.
Third-party services
Third-party downloads, websites, and Apple platform services have their own privacy practices. Their requests may include ordinary network information such as your IP address and the requested resource. See Apple's explanation of device backups.
