Ponyo Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Conversations and attachments

The reviewed iPhone app stores messages, selected photos, document excerpts, friend personalities, and conversation transcripts locally. It has no Ponyo account, analytics, or hosted AI chat service. On-device models process selected context locally. The optional Apple Cloud integration is disabled in this build; it would require explicit selection and revised disclosure before release.

Saved memories

A friend can save useful details from your words in new chats and calls. Saved notes belong to that friend and can survive deletion of the chat. Group notes remain within their group. Review or remove notes in Saved memories, undo newly saved notes, or disable automatic memory in Settings.

Calls and voices

Calls use on-device speech recognition, local model replies, and local speech playback. Microphone recordings are not saved, but call transcripts stay in the conversation. Unsupported languages and unavailable speech assets can prevent voice use. Optional voice models are downloaded separately and run locally.

Network connections

Optional intelligence and voice files download from their distributors, including Hugging Face, without your conversations. Apple can download platform assets. Briefing fetches selected publisher feeds; custom topics are sent to Google News to find coverage, without your chats or About You profile. Opening source links visits external websites. The system photo picker may retrieve a selected image from iCloud.

Control, sharing, and backups

Delete conversations and separately remove saved memories if you want to remove both. Removing the app removes local app data; iOS backup settings may retain copies. Manage those backups separately. Any information you explicitly share or email is handled by its recipient.

Version scope

This draft describes the reviewed iPhone build. Ponyo for Mac is in development, with additional Work, Studio, file, and voice capabilities; those flows need a separate release review and disclosure before distribution.

Third-party services

Third-party downloads, websites, and Apple platform services have their own privacy practices. Their requests may include ordinary network information such as your IP address and the requested resource. See Apple's explanation of device backups.

Changes to this policy

Features and platform availability can change between releases. The current version of this policy is published on this page.
